About

I’m Charlotte.

I live in Syracuse, NY, in Onondaga County.

I love the idea of democracy, but up to now I’ve never but in the thought – or effort – to be a well-informed voter.

Sure, I have a reasonable understanding of what the President does – and even about how his decisions eventually impact me.

And congress – writing laws, declaring wars, and interviewing cabinet appointees – sure. I get that.

But what about the smaller, local offices? The offices that many would argue actually most directly impact MY life and the lives of those I sit next to on the bus or make small talk with at the post office?

My profession – my identity – is all about teaching. Specifically, I teach teachers how to help students learn math. But right now, I’m interested in learning: learning WHAT these local offices do, learning WHO is running for them, and learning HOW those individuals plan to take hold of that power to improve the lives of Syracuse citizens.

I’m not a politician, I don’t own a company, and I don’t make any money off this blog. I just want to learn, and share what I learn with others.
